Steve Snyder is a commercial and residential paint contractor, Navy veteran, non-practicing attorney, and wood turner who was born and raised in Amarillo.
Steve was introduced to wood working at an early age by his father, Bob. Steve began woodturning in 2017 and has spent most of his free time since developing his craft. While specializing in bowls, he also turns hollow forms, platters, and vases. While pursuing the perfect cutting technique is a challenging endeavor for him, the hardest part of turning in the Panhandle is finding ideal wood.
Steve largely turns pieces from mesquite as it is his favorite and one of the most stable woods in the world, but he will turn any wood available to him. Please let him know if you have plans on taking down any hardwood trees and would like him to make something for you.
